Characterisation of hydrogen jet flames under different pressures with varying coflow oxygen concentrations

چکیده
The elevated temperature of hydrogen combustion increases the formation thermal NOx. Moderate or intense low oxygen dilution (MILD) is known to reduce NOx emissions and increase efficiency. Pressure often also used for increasing impact that pressure has on fluid dynamics chemical kinetics especially relevant in MILD conditions. Hydrogen jet flames issuing into a hot vitiated coflow were imaged using OH∗ chemiluminescence at different pressures (1–7 bar) levels (3–9% by vol.). Laminar flame simulations complemented experiments. observed mean radial width increased with pressure, but only O2 content less than 9%, suggesting greater influence when reduced. integrated signal strength remained constant 3% O2, despite an apparent width, spatial broadening pressure. Numerical results indicate 3–6% conditions H2 are met across wide range strains pressures, supporting experimental observations O2.

Structure of Laminar Coflow Spray Flames at Different Pressures
Experiments were conducted on laminar spray diffusion flames of ethanol/argon burning in oxygen at pressures of 1 and 3 atm. The flames were physically characterized by measuring droplet velocities and sizes by phase-Doppler anemometry, and gas temperature by thin-filament pyrometry and thermocouples. The flames exhibited a cold core, where little vaporization occurred, surrounded by a primary ...

متن کاملStrongly Advected Jet in a Coflow
We present the results of an experimental investigation into the behavior of a strongly advected jet ~weak jet! in a coflowing ambient fluid. Laser-induced-fluorescence and image processing techniques are employed to provide quantitative information about the mean properties of the flow. Data are obtained at previously inaccessible distances from the flow source, enabling the mean and fluctuati...
متن کاملGravity, radiation, and coflow effects on partially premixed flames
Our objective is to characterize gravity effects on the structure of laminar methane–air partially premixed flames through detailed simulations. We examine the heat loss due to radiation from similar flames that are established at various gravitational accelerations and coflow velocities. Radiation is modeled using the optically thin assumption that provides a limiting value for the radiation h...
متن کاملFunctional Piezocrystal Characterisation under Varying Conditions
Piezocrystals, especially the relaxor-based ferroelectric crystals, have been subject to intense investigation and development within the past three decades, motivated by the performance advantages offered by their ultrahigh piezoelectric coefficients and higher electromechanical coupling coefficients than piezoceramics. Structural anisotropy of piezocrystals also provides opportunities for dev...
